The Music Room by Namita Devidayal is a beautiful book. The book unveils the journey of a girl (Namita) living in Mumbai and studying in an English school and discovering, accepting and loving a parallel world of classical music.
The author unfolds the story lovingly and languidly. The narrative is carefully peppered with research related to music though it is done in a storylike or anecdotal fashion. The story doesn’t drag anywhere and keeps you engrossed throughout. Though the book deals with classical music, which is not a layman topic, it never bores the reader. It rather enriches the curious or awestruck mind.
I would recommend it to everyone interested in a good read.
